Guys. It's time to change the world. Tell everyone!

On September 25th 2015, 193 world leaders will commit to 17 Global Goals to achieve 3 extraordinary things in the next 15 years - End extreme poverty. Fight inequality & injustice. Fix climate change. The Global Goals for sustainable development can get these things done in all countries, for all people. Here at Conscious Step, we make socks as a way to stand up in style while facing the world's biggest challenges. In the lead up to this great event, we’ve featured each goal and an organization that offers a sustainable solution. Below are 17 ways we can change the world.

Goal 1 of the ‪‎Globals Goals‬ is 'no poverty'. By 2030, nobody will live in extreme poverty anywhere in the world, because all lives matter. Oxfam provides a sustainable solution for goal 1. This organization believes that when people have the power to claim their basic human rights, they can escape poverty – permanently. This core belief underpins their development programs in more than 90 countries. With their partners, allies and with local communities, they help people to claim rights for themselves.

Goal 2 is ‘zero hunger’. By 2030, no one will go hungry anywhere in the world. Action Against Hunger, a global humanitarian organization committed to ending world hunger, works to save the lives of malnourished children while providing communities with access to safe water and sustainable solutions to hunger. With our hunger socks, through our partnership with Action Against Hunger, you provide 6 food meals for a starving kid. The journey to end world hunger and goal 2 begins with a single step, after all.

Goal 3 is ‘good health and well being’. UNAIDS exists with the goal of eliminating HIV. Through our partnership with UNAIDS, each pair of our HIV socks provide 1 week of HIV therapy for an expectant mother. A tangible step for goal 3 looks good, but does better.

Goal 4 is ‘quality education’. Founded in 2000, Room to Read works to improve literacy rates across the globe. One way is by providing school books. In the past 15 years, Room to Read has provided 15M+ books to schoolchildren. By stepping into our education socks partnered with this organization, you're providing two more. Now, that's a tangible solution for goal 4.

Goal 5 is ‘gender equality’. By 2030, we will all have equal chances to succeed at all levels of public life. HeForShe is a solidarity movement for gender equality that brings together one half of humanity in support of the other half of humanity, for the benefit of all. Through HeforShe, men are taking a stand for gender equality all over the world. This organization provides an incredible, real life, solution for goal 5.

Goal 6 is ‘clean water and sanitation’ - By 2030, everyone will have safe water to drink. Water offers a solution to goal 6 by partnering with local communities in developing countries, providing wells that deliver clean water and sanitation, because water is life.

Goal 7 is ‘affordable and clean energy’ Originally founded in the state of New York, the 100% Campaign is accelerating the transition to 100% clean, renewable energy for all. The goal is to build a stronger economy, healthier families, and a more secure future. Clean energy is possible and is happening. Unleash the power the elements with this solution for goal 7.

Goal 8 is ‘decent work and economic growth’. One of the most powerful instruments for reducing poverty and improving quality of life, economic growth creates a virtuous cycle of prosperity and opportunity. Founded in 2005, Kiva offers an incredible solution for this goal. By leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.

Goal 9 is ‘industry, innovation and infrastructure’. Since 1976, Habitat for Humanity has been changing lives by putting roofs over the heads of many. They build because they believe that everyone, everywhere, should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. More than building homes, they build communities, they build hope and they build the opportunity for families to help themselves. So, close your eyes and click your heels, because there's no place like home.

Goal 10 is ‘reduced inequalities’. By 2030, our poorest people will have faster growing incomes.ONE offers a solution for this goal. ONE is an international campaigning and advocacy organization of nearly 7 million people taking action to end extreme poverty. In recent years, ONE’s members, together with other campaigners, have played an important role in persuading governments to support effective programs and policies that are making a measurable difference in fighting extreme poverty.

Goal 11 is ‘sustainable cities and communities’. C40 Cities is a network of the world’s megacities committed to addressing climate change. Acting both locally and collaboratively, C40 cities are having a meaningful global impact in reducing both greenhouse gas emissions and climate risks. Food Recovery Network offers a solution for goal 12 by uniting students on college campuses to fight food waste and hunger by recovering perishable food that would otherwise go to waste from their campuses and communities and donating it to people in need.

Goal 13 is ‘climate action’. By 2030, we will have strengthened resilience to climate related hazards and natural disasters in all countries. Climate Reality offers a solution for goal 13 by bringing the world together to cut carbon pollution & create a healthy & prosperous future powered by clean energy. With initiatives that are shifting our world towards renewable energy, Climate Reality is bringing forth change to rising temperatures and disruption to our natural systems.
